Giorgio Petrosyan

Giorgio Petrosyan ( Armenian Գևորգ Պետրոսյան Gevorg Petrosyan ; born December 10, 1985 in Yerevan ) is an Italian - Armenian kickboxer . His nickname is "The Doctor".

Career

After Petrosyan emigrated from Armenia to Italy at the age of thirteen, he began his professional career as a muay thai boxer at the age of sixteen and started bantamweighting. He went through the weight classes and eventually fought middleweight, where he won titles.

His move to kickboxing rules began in 2008 when he started fighting for It's Showtime and K-1 . Petrosyan was able to establish himself as the best middleweight in the world in 2009 and 2010 and won two consecutive K-1 World MAX tournaments. In 2012 he came to the end of It's Showtime and K-1 Glory and Glory won the 2012 Lightweight Slam tournament.

At the second Glory lightweight tournament on November 23, 2013 Petrosyan lost to Andy Ristie by knockout in the semi-finals, which ended an undefeated six-year period and forty-two games.
