Ayreen Anastas

Ayreen Anastas (* 1976 in Bethlehem , Palestinian Territories ) is a Palestinian -American video artist living in New York City .

life and work

Ayreen Anastas studied from 1986 to 1988 at the University of Bir Zait , then at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and completed her master's degree at the Technical University of Berlin in 1996 . Anastas is one of the organizers of the 16 Beaver group , an artist group based on 16 Beaver street in Lower Manhattan . Presentations and discussions take place there and projects are implemented.

Together with René Gabri and and and and she was a participant in dOCUMENTA (13) . Pasolini Pa * Palestine (2005), a film by Anastas and Gabri, was shown in Homeworks III in Beirut and in the Hebbel Theater in Berlin. M * of Bethlehem (2009) was shown at Kettle's Yard , Cambridge, the Argos festival in Brussels and CCA Glasgow .
