Giorgos Lillis

Giorgos Lillis (* 1974 in Bielefeld ) is a German - Greek poet and essayist .

Born in Germany, he lived in Athens and Agrinio during his childhood and youth . There he began to write poetry at the age of 10. He has been living in Germany again since 1996. He is a literary critic and essayist and writes a. a. for the newspaper " I Avgi " (Sunrise). So far three volumes of poetry have been published in Greece; some of his poems have been translated into French, English, Italian and Spanish. Together with his wife Martha Roussakis , he has translated works by Durs Grünbein into Greek. “Floating in the Dark” was voted one of the five best volumes of poetry of the year in Greece in 2003.
