We both! ( jap. GIRL FRIENDS ) is a manga series by the Japanese illustrator Milk Morinaga , which appeared in Japan from 2006 to 2010. It belongs to the Yuri genre and has been adapted as a radio play.

The girl Mariko Kumakura ( 熊 倉 真理 子 ) is best in class, but has no friends. She is shy and polite, mostly alone at school. But when the self-confident and attractive Akiko Ōhashi ( 大橋 亜 希 子 ) befriends her, Mariko changes, becomes more open and makes friends. But she soon has deeper feelings for Akiko. To distract herself from it, she finds a friend. But this is what makes Mariko really aware of her feelings for Akiko. Eventually Akiko becomes jealous of her boyfriend and notices that she has fallen in love with her too.

publication

The manga was published from October 2006 to August 2010 in Seinen - Manga magazine Comic High! (Vol. 19 to Vol. 65) from the Japanese publisher Futabasha . The chapters were then summarized in five anthologies ( Tankōbon ).

Sharp Point Press published the series in Chinese in Taiwan, JManga digitally in English and Japanese, Seven Seas Entertainment in the US in English, Taifu Comics in French and Palma Press in Russian. A German translation was published in full by Carlsen Verlag from May 2012 to July 2013 .

radio play

A radio play adaptation of the manga was produced under the direction of Midori Shimazawa and was released on CD on January 28, 2011 in Japan.
