Giugiaro Ford Mustang
The Giugiaro Ford Mustang is a concept vehicle based on the fifth generation Ford Mustang that was presented at the 2006 Los Angeles International Auto Show. It was designed by Italdesign Giugiaro under Fabrizio Giugiaro, son of Giorgetto Giugiaro. The Ford Mustang 2015 is based on many design elements of the Giugiaro Ford Mustang.
styling
In 2005, Fabrizio Giugiaro, the styling director of Italdesign Giugiaro, went to Ford to come up with a new concept inspired by the fifth generation Ford Mustang. These followed the designs by Giorgetto Giugiaro, who was also involved in the design of the Bertone Mustang from 1965 and the Chevrolet Corvette Moray . It is the younger car designer's interpretation of the European style for the 2005 version of the American pony car . Italdesign Giugiaro changed the design inside and out. The final concept of the vehicle is more compact and tapered with a smaller rear overhang, but wider by 30mm at the front and 80mm at the rear. A single pane forms the windshield and the roof, which consists of a type of crystal that filters out all UV rays, but does not polarize visible light. The doors are touch-sensitive and, when opened, stand out from the A-pillar at a 45-degree angle, similar to the classic scissor-type doors on the Lamborghini . The interior is clad in aluminum and leather. The dashboard, the door panels, the dials and buttons, the instrument cluster and the gear lever have been completely redesigned. The car also uses reversing cameras on both doors instead of traditional side mirrors. New ventilation slots in the periscope style as well as a new seat cover that reminds one of the pony cars .
technology
The engine of the Giugiaro Ford Mustang was tuned by Italdesign Giugiaro with injectors from the Ford GT and has a larger air intake with an air mass meter of 95 mm and a conical air filter. The exhaust gas flow is improved with an X-pipe and Ford Racing mufflers. The engine develops over 500 hp (373 kW) at a boost pressure of 0.8 bar (11 psi). The Giugiaro Mustang comes with a bespoke Ford Racing handling package that includes the shock absorbers, lower springs and thicker stabilizers. These changes also reduce the ride height by 1.5 inches (38 mm).
