Giuseppe Morello (born October 12, 1985 ) is an Italian football player who has been under contract with BSC Young Boys in the Axpo Super League since January 2010 and currently plays on loan for FC Biel .

Player career

Giuseppe Morello began his career in the 2004/05 season at FC Concordia Basel in the Challenge League . In his first season with the Basel team, he received 17 appearances in the second highest Swiss division and scored seven goals. In the following season he was finally able to establish himself as an important part of the team when he played 25 games and was able to mark six goals. After Concordia Basel was denied the license for the following season in the summer of 2009, Morello left the club and signed with league rivals FC Biel-Bienne . After scoring 13 goals in 13 games for Biel, he moved to the Axpo Super League club BSC Young Boys in early January 2010 .

He signed a 2½-year contract with the Bernese. He made his debut on February 7, 2010 in the away game against FC Basel in the Axpo Super League . Morello came on in the 82nd minute for midfielder Xavier Hochstrasser .

In July 2010, the Bernese gave him on loan for one year to FC Thun , but in January 2011 the Young Boys initiated a new loan deal and Morello moved back to the Challenge League for FC Biel-Bienne . There he caused a sensation when he scored one of the three goals in the Cup quarter-finals against FC Basel on March 3, 2011 , with which the Swiss champions and previous year's cup winners were thrown out of the current cup competition.
