glandular is a medical term that is used descriptively. It can be related to the localization, i.e. the location of the described object, or to the appearance of the described structure.

In terms of endocrinology, a glandular hormone refers to a hormone that is produced in an endocrine gland , as opposed to aglandular hormones that are produced in specialized single cells, such as B. the melatonin in the epiphysis or the calcitonin in the C-cells of the thyroid gland.
