Glass granulate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Milled glass products are used in different production processes in many different industries.

In ceramic products, in the refractory industry as well as in the brick and building material industry is glass powder, as well as glass granulate as sintering aids ( sinter ) as a filler used as well as an optical component.

The reactive and optical properties of the glass surfaces justify the use of glass granulate in resin-bound systems in mold construction , in architectural applications, in interior design and in building materials as well as in paint and varnish production.

The blasting abrasives industry, the grinding and polishing media industry as well as the cosmetics industry use the diverse possibilities of glass particles with regard to their abrasiveness.

In fire and explosion protection, the special melting properties and the special hygroscopic properties of glass come into play.
