Glaucus

Glaucus Forster, 1777 is the name of a marine species of snail . He's standing:

  • traditionally for the monotypical genus Glaucus with the only species Glaucus atlanticus ,
  • according to a system by Ángel Valdés and Orso Angulo Campillo 2004 for the two species Glaucus atlanticus and Glaucus marginatus and thus at the same time for the monogeneric family Glaucidae .

  • the Latinized form of the Greek name Glaukos .
