Hans Kaminski

Hans Kaminski (born September 13, 1940 ) is professor emeritus for economic education at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and director of the affiliated institute for economic education there .

Life

After completing a commercial college, Kaminski initially worked for the Federal Customs Administration from 1960 to 1965 . From 1965 to 1968 he studied educational science at the Paderborn University of Education, after which he worked as a teacher at various schools in North Rhine-Westphalia. After an additional study of economics Kaminski in 1976 with a thesis entitled "Basic elements of a didactic of business education - Science Theoretical conditions, problems of curriculum development, strategies for curricular implementation" was a PhD . In 1977 and 1978 he was visiting professor for vocational and business education at the University of Kassel and from 1978 to 1980 he was professor for business education at the University of Hamburg . In 1980 he accepted a professorship for economics and didactics of economics at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, where he worked until his retirement. He performed numerous functions there, e.g. B. Vice-President, Dean, Head of the Institute for Economic Education (previously Institute for Economic and Technical Education), Member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Lifelong Learning C3L.

From 1990 to 1994 he was appointed to the administrative board of the Consumer Institute Foundation by the Federal Ministry of Economics.

In 1993, Kaminski, together with representatives from schools, companies and chambers, founded the registered association wigy, whose goals include supporting teachers through curricular concepts and teaching materials as well as creating political framework conditions for the establishment of economic education in general schools.

In 2005 he also founded the Institute for Economic Education as an affiliated institute of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, which strives nationwide to establish economic education at general schools and for this purpose support structures in the form of concepts, teaching materials as well as training, advanced training and training systems developed. In various publications, including by Reinhold Hedtke and in a contribution to the political television magazine Frontal 21 , the affiliated institute was exposed to various criticisms. Including the allegations of one-sidedness of the teaching materials as well as too close proximity to the economy, which was rejected by the institute in a statement.

In Lower Saxony, Kaminski has worked in numerous curriculum commissions of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture for the development of core curricula: most recently in 2013 for the "core business curriculum for secondary school, grades 7-10", 2011 for the "business profile, requirements for secondary school" and 2006 for the " Core curriculum Politics and Economics for grammar school, grades 8–10 ”.

Focus

Kaminski's research focuses on educational theory, subject didactic and methodological questions of economic education in general education, studies on the relationship between specialist science and specialist didactics in economic education, economic education in transition countries, as well as questions of integrating content-related priorities into economic education.
