Reinhold Hedtke

Reinhold Hedtke (born May 28, 1953 in Lengerich , Steinfurt district ) is a German social scientist , sociologist and author . He is professor of didactics in social sciences and economic sociology at Bielefeld University .

Career

Reinhold Hedtke completed his Abitur in 1971 at the Helmholtz Gymnasium in Bielefeld . In 1980 he passed the first state examination for teaching in social sciences, economics and history . He received his PhD in sociology from Bielefeld University in 1995.

Between 1980 and 1996 he was a teacher at various colleges and vocational colleges in North Rhine-Westphalia, including at the Hans-Böckler-Berufskolleg Marl / Haltern . From 1986 to 1991 he worked as a lecturer at the University of Bielefeld. From 1996 he was a substitute professor for economics and its didactics at the Weingarten University of Education ; from 1998 he was a professor there. In 2002 he became a professor at Bielefeld University.

From 2005 to 2009 he was director of the Center for German and European Studies (St. Petersburg, Bielefeld). Since 2005 he has been a board member of the Graduate School in History and Sociology. From 2007 to 2011 he was Dean of the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University . From 2009 to 2011 he was the chairman of the board of directors of the international doctoral program of the Faculty of Sociology, and since 2012 he has been chairman of the doctoral committee.

Reinhold Hedtke is co-founder of the Society for Socio-Economic Education and Science and a member of the German Society for Sociology (DGS), the International Association for Citizenship, the Society for Political Didactics and Political Youth and Adult Education and the German Association for Political Education.
