Glen Dimplex is an international group of companies headquartered in Dublin . The German subsidiary operates as Glen Dimplex Deutschland GmbH . The company is the world's leading manufacturer of electric heating, cooling systems and small household appliances. It was founded in November 1973.
Group of companies
The group employs around 10,000 people worldwide and has an annual turnover of around 2 billion euros (as of 2013). Around 900 people are employed at the German locations in Kulmbach , Nuremberg and Sonneberg .
The German subsidiary is divided into three divisions: Dimplex , Riedel and ewt . The Dimplex division stands for building technology products , especially for heat pumps , electric heating, ventilation devices and solar thermal systems. The Riedel brand division stands for refrigeration technology with the sub-areas of water chillers , chiller sets and cooling systems. The equipment from households with products for floor care, electric heaters and kitchen appliances accepts the division ewt in Sonneberg and Nuremberg. Riedel and Dimplex products are manufactured in Kulmbach. The traditional Thuringian company Elektroinstallation Oberlind (EIO for short, Sonneberg) has been part of the group since the 1990s .
The Glen Dimplex group includes the brands EIO, EWT, morphy richards and AquaVac.
