Gnomonia leaf tan
The Gnomonia-leaf blight is a fungal disease of the bird cherry , by Gnomonia erythrostoma is caused.
The pathogen overwinters on stuck, brown leaves. During winter, perithecia develop on the underside of the leaf , in which ascospores mature. The spore flight usually begins from mid-March and lasts into June. Infections are possible if the leaves remain wet for six hours . The eponymous leaf browning occurs from the end of July.
