Golden Grove (ship)

The Golden Grove was a First Fleet supply ship . It was built in Whitby in 1780 . During the voyage to Australia, William Sharp was the ship's captain. Also on board was chaplain Richard Johnson and his wife and servants.

The ship left Portsmouth on May 13, 1787 and reached Port Jackson , Australia on January 26, 1788. On October 2, 1788, she transported 21 male and 11 female convicts to Norfolk Island , where there was another convict colony . October back to Port Jackson.

On November 19, 1788, she left Port Jackson and sailed together with the Fishburn , to which she lost contact on April 11, 1789. The Golden Grove reached England on June 9, 1789.
