Golden SCART was a version of the SCART connection that was adapted for the transmission of television signals using the HD-MAC method .

After the failure of HD-MAC and the discontinuation of analogue transmission of HDTV in Europe, the Golden SCART did not get beyond a few built-in components in televisions from Philips and Telefunken . The golden SCART should not be confused with gold-plated standard SCART plugs.
