The Goldstein Palace is a neo-renaissance building in the Polish city of Katowice .

history

The building was built in 1872 by the brothers Abraham and Joseph Goldstein. They were wealthy Jewish merchants who had come to Silesia from the partition of Russia and had made their fortune by owning numerous sawmills in Poland. In 1892 a fire destroyed the sawmill in Katowice, so that the Goldstein brothers moved to Breslau and sold the building. Today the building belongs to the city of Katowice.
