The Gulf of Evia or Euboean Gulf ( Greek Ευβοϊκός κόλπος , Evvoïkós Kolpos ) is an arm of the Aegean Sea between the island of Evia , which forms the northeast coast of the Gulf, and mainland Greece in the southwest. The gulf, running diagonally from northwest to southeast, is divided by the strait of the Strait of Euripos near Chalkis .

The northern Gulf of Evia is about 80 km long and up to 24 km wide, the southern Gulf of Evia is about 48 km long with a maximum width of 14 km.

Evia was once connected at its northern tip to the geologically related mainland, and there was a land bridge over the Euripus .
