Gordon Duncan

Gordon Duncan (born May 14, 1964 , † December 14, 2005 in Edradour ) was a Scottish bagpiper . His first teacher on this instrument was Bill Hepburn (the pipe major of The Turriff and District Pipe Band at the time), and later his father and older brother Ian Duncan. Gordon Duncan took u. a. with the bands Wolfstones, Tannahill Weavers , Ceolbeg and the Dougie MacLean band. His solo career was also very successful.

His protracted struggle with alcoholism was known . Gordon Duncan committed suicide on December 14, 2005 in Edradour, Pitlochry, Perthshire, where he lived. The funeral took place on December 21, 2005 with his family at the Church of Scotland in Pitlochry.
