The Gottfried Benn Society was founded in 1998 and has set itself the task of promoting Gottfried Benn's work and contributing to its international recognition. She wants to bundle all statements about what she sees as one of the greatest German poets of the 20th century and make them available to Benn friends and scientists.

Society's interest is also directed towards historical influences and personal relationships of the poet. The company's headquarters in Bremen should contribute to the research on Benn's friend and intellectual partner, the businessman Dr. FW Oelze, to encourage.

The society takes up the ongoing scientific research and collects essays, essays and mishaps about Gottfried Benn in international newspapers and magazines in order to document the reception of the work. Congresses and meetings are planned.

The Gottfried Benn Society publishes the new yearbook “Benn Forum”, which was first published in 2009 by Walter de Gruyter.
