Gottfried von der Recke

Gottfried von der Recke (* unknown; † unknown) was a canon in Münster .

Life

Gottfried von der Recke came from the Westphalian noble family von der Recke and was the son of Jobst von der Recke zu Heessen and his wife Elberta von Ketteler zu Hovestadt. His brother Jobst was canon in Münster from 1614 to 1625. On June 3, 1602, Gottfried came into the possession of the cathedral priest , who had previously been waived by the canon Johann Schencking . He was emancipated on May 17, 1604 with the revolt to the Recke, Ketteler, Schencking and Wylich families. Gottfried studied in Rome and presented his degree certificate on July 27, 1607. In 1614 Gottfried renounced and concluded a settlement with his father about the administration of the Volmerstein fiefdoms. In 1625 Gottfried married Margaretha von Büren (daughter of the nobleman Joachim von Büren and Ringelstein and Elisabeth von Loe). In 1629 he got his second marriage and married Hedwig von der Dorneburg called von Aschebrock.
