Ship launch Blomsholm

Ship settlement

About seven kilometers north of Stromstad is one consisting of 49 stones slender stone ship . With a length of 42 meters, it is one of the largest of its kind. Bow and stern stones reach a height of three to four meters. The lines of the ship correspond in their width-to-length ratio to real ships. In the context of the finds, the setting of the ships was dated to the late Iron Age or the era of the Great Migration. The 20 graves that are grouped around the ship's position belong to the same time. Due to the land elevation , the sea level has sunk about 10 m, so that the coast to the Dynebucht used to be closer than it is today.

Building stone

The slender, flat stone towering over two and a half Meier at the edge of the forest without any decorations belongs to the same epoch as the ship's setting.

Domarring ( German  "Richterring" )

The judges ring

The stone circle located in a forest clearing is one of the largest in the north with a diameter of 33 m. The ten outer stones are a good one and a half meters high. The most colossal stone is in the middle. As a rule, the circular stone settings, popularly known as domar rings , are grave complexes, consisting of five to seven stones that are not too high. However, there are also circles with more than 30 stones (Nedre Ätradalen). Timmersjö County is the largest in Halland , it has 15 stones. Most of the judges' rings can be found in the Jönköpings län and Skaraborgs län regions. Like the ship setting and building stone , the Domarringen also belongs to the late Iron Age or to that of the Migration Period . Two menhirs were set up like a gate to the Neolithic stone circle.
