The Gróf Palace in the Hungarian city of Szeged is the residential palace of the lawyer Arpad Gróf and an important example of Hungarian Art Nouveau . Dr. Gróf did not live here himself, but had numerous apartments set up for high-paid city officials who could afford the high rents. The building was commissioned by Ferenc Raichle and built between 1912 and 1913 in just 13 months. The main page is flanked by two towers and has numerous balconies. In the gable there is an oriental ornament, which sparkles in the colors blue, yellow and gold. These ceramic tiles are particularly impressive at sunrise. The balconies and the railing in the staircase have a typical Art Nouveau grid. The building has remained unchanged for almost a hundred years and is still used today as a residential building. Although the house was placed under protection by the Ministry of Art in 2006, the building is in a technically poor condition, which is particularly due to the falling plaster.
