Grönköpings Veckoblad

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Swedish satirical or humor newspaper Grönköpings Veckoblad ("Grönköpings Wochenblatt") was founded in 1902. Grönköping is a fictional place that is supposed to be located “where narrow-mindedness rules over common sense”. On the Swedish humor map he can be found between the small towns of Hjo and Skövde . Its inhabitants, first and foremost Emil Ruda, local police officer Paulus Bergström and postman Pontus Brunander, are known throughout Sweden, as is the very own language Transpiranto , with which “Grönköpings Veckoblad” caricatures Swedish for politicians and officials.
