Tomb for August Wernicke

August Wernicke's tomb

The tomb for August Wernicke is a listed burial complex in the old cemetery of Bernau near Berlin (Brandenburg). The Bernau city chronicler and city councilor August Wernicke is buried here.

The complex consists of a black marble tombstone . The inscription carved in gold letters:

Here rests in God
after a blessed life filled with voluntary work
my dearly beloved, kind-hearted man, the reindeer and city councilor chief
August Wernicke

† November 9, 1912

After her death on January 10, 1933, Wernicke's wife Berta was also buried here.

Next to the tombstone there are two other bases. The two iron crosses placed on it have broken off at the stump.
