Grafstat

Grafstat is a program for creating and evaluating surveys using a questionnaire. The development of the program is funded by the Federal Agency for Civic Education .

License

The use of the program is free of charge for the public education sector; a license must be purchased for all other forms of use.

Range of functions

Grafstat was primarily developed for use in the public education sector (for use by pupils or students) and therefore has a simple and easy-to-learn program interface. All work steps can be processed by wizards.

After a questionnaire (initially empty) has been created, the individual questions and answer options are created using an input mask. In addition to single, multiple and free text answer options, Grafstat also enables scales or measures as answer options.

After the questionnaire has been created, the questionnaire can be printed out by an assistant. Alternatively, it is also possible to make the questionnaire available on the Internet and have it answered online. The data is then collected using data collection points provided by the University of Münster , among others .

A manual input of the collected data (for example when sending a print version of the survey) is done via another input mask.

In addition to the simple basic evaluation of the collected data, in which all questions are counted and the absolute and relative frequencies are specified and saved in a text document, Grafstat also enables a detailed evaluation (e.g. using cross tables, filters, graphic evaluations).

Federal Agency for Civic Education

Grafstat is referred to on the website of the Federal Agency for Civic Education as " software for simple social science surveys ". In addition to the program, the Federal Agency for Civic Education also presents some projects on its website that have been carried out by students using Grafstat.
