Grasovka

Grasovka is a brand of the spirits manufacturer Underberg . The vodka of the genus Żubrówka has the typical, mildly spicy aroma, which comes from the scented Mariengrass ( Hierochloe odorata ). The starting material is a cereal mixture mainly made from rye .

This vodka is the best-selling flavored vodka and at the same time the best-selling Polish vodka in Germany.

Grasovka is produced in Poland and bottled in Germany. During the filling process, a stalk of Mariengrass is put into each bottle by hand. There is a straw in the appropriate size in all four bottle sizes, 0.1, 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 liters. But this is done for purely decorative purposes. A change in taste by the attached stalk is not achieved and is also not intended. The alcohol content is 38%. The bottle label has been transparent since 2005 in order to emphasize the striking blade of grass and the special color of the vodka. The blue cap is supposed to symbolize the cold water of the Polish lakes and have a signal effect on the buyer.

The name Grasovka is an invention by Emil Underberg , who developed a brand name for the German-speaking area for the Żubrówka genus as early as 1976.

Since 2020, a ready-mixed drink in a can called “Grasovka Vodka Apple Soda” has also been sold under the Grasovka brand. Original Grasovka is mixed with apple juice and soda.
