Great Consolidated Popular Party

The Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) (elsewhere: Great Consolidated People's Party ) is a political party in Ghana .

It was founded in 1996.

The party's national chairman was EB Mensah, first deputy was John Thompson and second deputy was Gilbert Barnor. Later Daniel Augustus Lartey ( Dan Lartey ) are mentioned as party chairman and Nicholas Mensah as general secretary. The seat of the party is Accra . Their motto is: Forward with the people , the GCPP logo is designed in red and yellow. A red ring surrounds a yellow center in which a red dove is depicted. The abbreviation of the GCPP party is placed in large red letters under the red ring .

In 2000, Daniel Augustus Lartey ran for the GCPP as a candidate in the presidential elections and was clearly defeated by the then election winner John Agyekum Kufuor . The Great Consolidated People's Party merged with the Every Ghanaian Living Everywhere Party and the People's National Convention to form the Grand Coalition in 2004 . As a candidate for the grand coalition, Edward Mahama ran in the Ghanaian presidential elections on December 7, 2004, but was clearly defeated by the election winner and re-president John Agyekum Kufuor.
