Greven Medien GmbH & Co. KG is a medium-sized company founded in 1827 and publisher of trade and telecommunications directories with headquarters in Cologne .

history

The company was founded in 1827 by Anton Greven (1793–1870). From 1828 the publisher published the daily "Fremd-Blatt der Stadt Köln". This daily newspaper was published under changing names until 1866 (most recently: "Kölnischer Anzeiger and Rheinische Handelszeitung"). Also in 1828 the "Address book or directory of the inhabitants of the city of Cöln" appeared for the first time, which until 1973 was published in 142 volumes.

The Greven & Bechtold printing company was founded as a further division in 1858 and remained in the family's possession until 2001. In 1936, Sigurd Greven signed a contract with the Deutsche Reichspostreklame for the joint publication of the “trade, trade and professional directory” of the telephone subscribers for the Reichspostdirektionsgebiet Köln, the forerunner of the Yellow Pages , which was added to the official telephone book . In 1938 the first “local telephone directory for Greater Cologne” was published, also in cooperation with the postal advertising.

Products

Today, in cooperation with DeTeMedien, more than 50 telecommunications directories are published by Greven Medien GmbH. This includes:

as well as the associated online services. The publisher also hosts numerous Internet event and leisure portals, advertising markets, search engines and business directories.

In addition, Greven's address book publisher offers search engine marketing and web design through the advertising agency adora MEDIA GmbH, which was founded in July 2007 .
