Phuket Big Buddha
Coordinates: 7 ° 49 ′ 39.6 ″ N , 98 ° 18 ′ 46.4 ″ E The Big Buddha of Phuket ( Thai :พระพุทธ มิ่ง มงคล เอก นาค คีรี - Phra Phuttha Mingmongkhon Akenakkhiri ) is a Buddha statue on the island of Phuket in the southern region of Thailand .
It was completed in 2008 (except for the base) and is one of the most striking vantage points on the island. The imposing marble statue is 45 meters high and has a diameter of 25 meters at the base. The Buddha sits on a large pedestal made of stylized lotus flowers and looks east over Chalong Bay from the top of Nakkerd Hill (Khao Nakkerd) . For the not yet completely finished base, you can buy marble slabs for a small fee and have them built in with your name.
