Grotto of the Innocent Children

The Grotto of the Innocent Children is next to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem . It is connected to the nativity grotto through the grotto system under the structures. According to traditional tradition, the child murder took place here in Bethlehem , which is reported in the Gospel of Matthew . This has not been proven historically.
