The Hirschbach mine was a hard coal mine in Dudweiler , Saarland . It was initially called Grube Dudweiler and was renamed Grube Hirschbach in 1920 . It was one of the better-known pits of the Saarland mining industry . In 1952 the mine was closed. The operator of the Saargruben has set up various central service facilities on parts of the area, including the central Hirschbach main workshop , which was used for the maintenance of conveyor technology, and the occupational medicine center .

On the street Am Gegenortschacht 8/10, 12/14 and 18, an ensemble of two semi-detached houses for officials of the mine and a director's villa as a three-storey residential building, which were built between 1906 and 1908 in the style of historicism with echoes of Art Nouveau , has been preserved .

The mountain festival site, where mountain festivals were held in the past , is still recognizable.

The Burning Mountain to the east should also be mentioned . The Landgruber Flöz on the slopes between Dudweiler and Sulzbach-Neuweiler is affected. The fire has existed since 1668 at the latest.
