Basic rules of European contract law

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The basic rules of European contract law ( English : Principles of European Contract Law or Lando Principles ) are a non-legally binding compilation of common contract law principles, which the EU member states use when drafting bills , parties when drafting contracts or even courts when interpreting the law can fall back on.

The scope of application of the principles is the entire general contract law such as conclusion of contract, assignment , calculation of deadlines or representation . They are not legally binding. Leading civil lawyers from all EU member states were involved in drafting it in the Lando Commission . In the course of the current efforts towards a common European contract law for the entire area of the EU, they can be considered as a model for a European model regulation.
