Base wine

Base wine is the raw product used to make products from wine . It is a finished, but young barrel wine that

undergoes a second fermentation for the production of sparkling wine ;

for sherry is blended with other vintages;

Unfiltered as a brandy wine , i.e. with the wine yeast , the basis of brandies such as cognac , armagnac , brandy etc.
