The Sociedad General de Aguas de Barcelona (abbreviated: Agbar) is a Spanish water supplier with headquarters in Barcelona. The company was founded in 1867 as Compagnie des Eaux de Barcelone in Liège by Spanish, French and Belgian investors to expand the water supply in Barcelona. Agbar was previously listed but has been wholly owned by Suez since it was acquired in 2008 . Grupo Agbar is active on several continents through subsidiaries.
