Gruppo Strum

Gruppo Strum was a designer collective founded in Turin in 1963. It consisted of Giorgio Cerretti , Pietro Derossi , Carlo Gianmarco , Riccardo Rosso and Maurizio Vogliazzo and belonged to the design radical movement. In 1972 they took part in the exhibition “Italy - the New Domestic Landscape” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York with the seating objects Pratone and Torneraj, also written Tornerai. 1978 at the La Biennale di Venezia 1978. From Nature to Art, from Art to Nature. Another well-known seating object is a puffo in the shape of a foam kiss .

Pratone seat object

The seat object Pratone consists of green colored polyurethane foam . It measures 140 × 140 × 95 cm and weighs 52 kg. It was produced by the Gufram company. In 1986 the company decided to limit the edition to 200 pieces. It made 16 copies between 1986 and 1996. These objects were mainly sold to museums and galleries. Copies are today z. B. in the collection of the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich and in the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein. At that time, Gufram had produced around 60 Pratone in total. No information is available about current sales.
