Guadalcanal Diary (band)

Guadalcanal Diary is an alternative rock band from Marietta ( Georgia ). The band was formed in 1981 and broke up in 1989. In 1997 there was a reunion, but new music was not released. After separating again in 2000, the band performed at a festival in Athens , Georgia in 2011 , where the band's 30th anniversary was celebrated.

The band members are Murray Attaway (vocals and guitar), Jeff Walls (guitar), Rhett Crowe (bass) and John Poe on drums.

The band, which performed in the classical line-up of vocals, two guitars, bass and drums, was not successful from an economic point of view, but their work was largely received positively by the music critics. The album 2X4 was named one of the top 80 albums of the 1980s by Paste Magazine.

Some of the band's music is categorized as jangle pop along with REM , Tom Petty and others .
