The Guangzhou East Railway Station ( Chinese 廣州 東 站 / 广州 东 站 , Pinyin Gǔangzhōu Dōngzhàn ), formerly also known as Tianhe Railway Station ( 天河 站 , Tiānhé Zhàn ), is a train station on Dongzhanlu 1 ( 東 站 路 1 號 / 东站 路 1 号 , Dōngzhànlù Yī Hào ) is located in the Tianhe district of Guangzhou .
Trains to Hong Kong run from here . There are also special counters for handling the necessary entry and exit formalities.
The train station is about 10 km northeast of Guangzhou city center . The station is connected to the city via the Guangzhou Metro (terminus of Line 1).
