Guanyindong

Guanyindong ( 观音洞 , Guānyīndòng , English Guanyindong Cave  - " Guanyin Cave") is a Paleolithic cave site that was discovered in 1964 in Qianxi County in the Chinese province of Guizhou . The Guanyindong culture (观音洞 文化 Guanyindong Wenhua; Guanyin Cave Culture) and a fossil fauna community are named after her.

It contains the earliest evidence of stone artifacts made in China using the Levallois technique.

The site of the Guanyin Cave of Qianxi (Qianxi Guanyin dong yizhi 黔西 观音洞 遗址) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-107) since 2001 .
