Guarayos is the name of a group of tribes that are native to the lowlands of what is now Bolivia .

The Guarayos belong to the Tupí-Guaraní language family and are mainly settled in what is now the Guarayos province in the northwest of the Santa Cruz department . They are believed to have settled around the Río Blanco and Río San Miguel rivers since the 16th century . In the 19th century, the Guarayos were gathered in Franciscan settlements, and by the late 1870s there were a total of four missionary villages : Yotaú , Ascención de Guarayos , Urubichá and Yaguarú .
