Guilherme Cossoul

António Guilherme Cossoul (born April 22, 1828 in Lisbon , † November 26, 1880 ibid) was a Portuguese composer.

Cossoul wrote 37 musical works, including the operettas A Cisterna do Diabo (1850), O Arrieiro (1852) and O Visionário do Alentejo . From 1861 he was a professor at the Conservatory of Lisbon and two years later he was appointed director of the Conservatory's Music School.

He was the founder of the Associação dos Bombeiros Voluntários , the Association of Volunteer Fire Brigades of Lisbon.
