The Guitar Duo KM is a German-Chilean guitar duo and consists of Katrin Klingeberg and Sebastián Montes.
history
During their studies together in Hanover, Katrin Klingeberg and Sebastián Montes founded their guitar duo and made their debut in 2004 with the Concierto madrigal by Joaquín Rodrigo for 2 guitars and orchestra. Since then the duo has performed successfully in many countries in Europe and South America, as well as in Japan and the USA. In addition, the two guitarists are regularly invited to teach as part of master classes and to be part of the jury at international competitions. As students of the renowned Kaltchev Guitar Duo at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts , they completed both their master’s degree and their concert exam in chamber music with distinction.
Before completing his studies, Sebastián Montes was appointed professor at the Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago de Chile . He followed the call; The two musicians have been living in Santiago de Chile since April 2012, where Sebastián Montes now heads the guitar department of the Universidad Católica. In 2010 the first CD recital was released. In addition to original works for 2 guitars, the duo is dedicated to the transcription of classical works as well as arrangements of Latin American folklore. After numerous first prizes in international competitions, the guitar duo Klingeberg-Montes is now one of the most sought-after duos on the international guitar scene.

- 2011: 1st prize at the Niccolo Paganini guitar competition in Parma, Italy
