Gunugu

Gunugu was an ancient city in western North Africa near today's Sidi-Brahim in Algeria .

It was originally a Carthaginian trading post . In Roman times Gunugu was under Augustus Colonia and belonged to the province of Mauretania Caesariensis . A bishop of Gunugu is known for late antiquity. The titular Gunugus of the Roman Catholic Church goes back to the diocese .
