Gutta technology

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gutta technique is a form of the contour technique used in silk painting .

Gasoline-soluble gutta are used to draw boundary lines on the fabric. Normally, when applied to an untreated silk fabric , the silk paint flows outwards and spreads out without an orderly flow . The boundary lines made with Gutta enable different colored areas to be clearly demarcated and allow them to collide. Within the individual surfaces, she makes use of the properties of silk to create shades.
