Gwalia House, also known as the Sandfield Tower

The three-story Gwalia House in the south of Liverpool, United Kingdom is a listed mansion and listed as a building of outstanding architectural and historical interest in Category II (Grade II) of the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest .

history

It was built in 1851 by the South American merchant Joseph Edwards as a private sandstone villa . It belonged to him until 1857. The building, also known as the “Sandfield Tower”, had changing private owners until 1900. In the 1990s Gwalia House was badly damaged by fire and part of the interior is still exposed through destroyed parts of the roof and is exposed to the weather.
