Hüdel is a Frisian pastry that is typically eaten with pears, plums or sweet apples. To prepare it, yeast, milk, sugar, flour and butter are mixed together and cooked in the steam bath, similar to a yeast dumpling .

The fruit consumed with it is cooked soft and thickened. Pears are usually cooked with pork belly or sausages.
