HC Andersen's Barndomshjem

HC Andersens Barndomshjem (Eng. "HC Andersen's Childhood House ") is the Danish name for the house in which the Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen spent his childhood. The house is located in central Odense in Munke Møllestræde.

Hans Christian Andersen, who was born in 1805, lived in this house from 1807 to 1819.

The room in which Andersen grew up opened as a museum in 1931. On the occasion of HC Andersen's 200th birthday, the house was renovated in 2005 and further exhibits were added. The facility is set up according to the stories told by the poet in his autobiographies. Another room, in which another family lived at the time, now shows reports by the poet about his childhood.
