HDR GmbH is a German architecture and planning office that specializes in the planning of buildings for health, research and teaching.
history
In 1959, Gerhard Thiede founded the Thiede architectural office in Düsseldorf. In 1987, when the partner Guido Meßthaler was taken on, the "architectural office for hospital construction" became the "architectural office Thiede, Meßthaler and partner". Since 1995 the office has operated under the name "TMK Architects - Engineers". From 1991 to 1995 locations were established in Berlin, Leipzig and Erfurt. At the beginning of 2010 an office opened in Kiel and in 2014 another in Munich.
In 2012 the office took third prize in the competitionline ranking 2012 - competition and order ranking in the field of order ranking architects .
In March 2013, the merger of TMK Architects - Engineers (Germany) and HDR Inc. (USA) established HDR TMK Planungsgesellschaft mbH with 175 employees. The office is currently ranked 9th in the nationwide architecture office ranking in the field of healthcare buildings. In 2017 the name was changed to HDR GmbH. The company is based in Düsseldorf.
