HMS Otus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Several submarines of the British Royal Navy have been named HMS Otus . The name comes from the scops owl ( Otus ), and follows the naming scheme of naming all boats of the respective class with "O" (in both classes mythological figures, animals and other things)

  • HMS Otus (N92) was an Odin class boat . The boat was launched in 1928 and was scrapped in 1946.
  • HMS Otus (S18) was an Oberon-class submarine . The boat entered service in 1963 and decommissioned in 1991. It is now in Sassnitz (Rügen) in the submarine adventure world .
