HMS Queen

HMS Queen is the name of several ships in the British Navy .

  • the first HMS Queen was built in 1225, her fate is unknown.
  • the second HMS Queen was built as HMS Royal Charles in 1673 , renamed HMS Queen in 1693 , and again renamed HMS Royal George in 1715 .
  • the third HMS Queen was built in 1769.
  • the fourth HMS Queen was built in 1839.
  • the fifth HMS Queen was a Formidable- class battleship , launched in 1902.
  • the sixth HMS Queen , formerly USS St. Andrews , was an escort aircraft carrier built in 1943 and ceded to the Royal Navy in the same year. It was returned to the US Navy in 1946.
