HTTrack Website Copier ("HTTrack" for short) is free software that can be used to copy entire websites to a local directory, e.g. B. on a hard drive can be created. The structure of the link remains functional.

Possible uses of HTTrack include: B. Offline copies of websites for computers without an Internet connection and the backup of web content for the purpose of archiving, z. B. before the shutdown of a website.

Archived pages can be updated and interrupted downloads can be continued. Using filter lists, certain document types can be included or excluded.

HTTrack uses a so-called web crawler for downloading . If not switched off, the specifications of the robots.txt are observed. References ( left ) within Flash and Java applications (or applets ), as well as those generated by simple JavaScripts , are also carried out.

In addition to the command line version, there are variants with a graphical user interface - "WinHTTrack" for Windows (from Windows 2000 ) and "WebHTTrack" for Unix-like systems (such as Linux , Unix , BSD and Mac ).
